Keep trucks rolling, economy moving — make parking safe

Trucks on the highway mean our economy is moving. They mean jobs are present, and there is food at the supermarket. Restaurants can serve their patrons; clothing and electronics are at your favorite retail stores; and there are building materials and garden supplies that make your house a home. The sight of trucks should make you happy knowing industry and interstate commerce are moving through your city. The people who drive those trucks sacrifice many of life's simple pleasures to serve you: family time, often being away weeks or months at a clip; decent food choices; private bathroom facilities; and a safe place to park and rest. A well-rested truck driver benefits everyone on the roadway. Fatigued driving can be compared with people driving under the influence; it is impaired driving, and it is illegal.
